Like It Never Happened

The hurricane moved on north and away from us at some point overnight.
We went to bed around midnight and it was still blowing.
Friday morning came and it turned into a sunny, blue sky day.
The final score for us was:
No major home damage
No flooding
Never lost power
No trees came down

Branches and debris all over but that was to be expected. As you can see from today’s photo, those tall pines out back are still standing tall, even as they spent the previous 24 hours doing the Hulu out there.

The overall day after was like it never happened. The neighborhood pool had plenty of swimmers and sunbathers out celebrating that we all emerged relatively unscathed.

Last night was tense for sure. The wind and rain sounded like a railroad train barreling down the tracks for a large part of yesterday evening.

We got lucky, but we were prepared for most contingencies. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best was the moto of the week.

Thanks to all for your caring words, thoughts, and prayers. It all helped as was appreciated.

We feel much relief today. :-)
