Aqueduct

We left Salamanca this morning and headed towards Madrid, where we will spend the next few nights. Our main excursion today, though, was the UNESCO-listed city of Segovia, with its fairy-tale style Alcázar at one end of the old town and its Roman aqueduct (pictured) at the other.

The part of the aqueduct still visible is 813m long and stands about 28m above the road below. It was constructed without any mortar or cement and is an amazing feat of engineering.

Sorry I haven't had time to browse / comment on your Blips. I'll get back on track once I get home.
