ROYAL SPOONBILL....

.... although fairly common, this a first for me today.

The massive winds still on but dropped to only 50 kph here today, and of course with the dry conditions in New South Wales and Queensland, there are now many bad bushfires.

Called by the dam late arvo after a meeting and with the wind did not expect a lot happening, but there were a few birds around out of the wind  (excepting a Kookaburra here) And it sure was having a bad hair day.

Then spotted this Royal Spoonbill again trying to stay out of the wind enjoying the last warmth in the sun.

Also liked this Little Black Cormorant tucked against the back out of the wind and trying to catch the sun.

Enjoy and have a look in LARGE and if you have time a few others starting here on Flickr
