Opening Up

Slowly vegetation shows signs, if not exactly dying back, then diminishing somewhat. There are gaps and views opening up, offering vignettes of small worlds inside and beyond. And shafts of light find their way through other spaces illuminating pockets of still active growth.

Sidelight makes the leaves and grasses glow and shows off their texture against the darker background.

The light was still quite strong and I probably didn't use enough exposure compensation to preserve the highlight detail in a few leaves and stems. I used PS to clone in the missing leaf detail and burn in some colour along a few stems that were almost white. I'm not sure that was the best solution and was quite time consuming, but I think it works.
