Freiburg minster

We crossed the Rhine and went into Germany today, to Freiburg. It's a beautiful medieval town but was badly bombed in 1944 and rebuilt afterwards, recreating the old buildings as best they could. Miraculously, most of the cathedral survived intact - including its spire - and its ancient stained glass windows had been removed for safekeeping anyway. Wonderful rich colors even on a grey and wet day.
