Happy house guest

I glanced up from reading the Sunday edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer to see our granddog, Mabel, enjoying an afternoon nap in the chair opposite me. Mabel's full-time residence is with our daughter Alison and son-in-law Mike, and occasionally our grandchildren Michael and Emmy, when they aren't away at school or working. However, since we lost our springer spaniel (and best buddy) Gulliver, Bob and I are "dog-less," so Mike and Alison often drop Mabel off for a week or two at our house. Alison says we are co-parenting, and Mabel seems to like the extra attention.
