Japanese fishermen's homes around 1900

The Japanese were a large part of the community until Japan entered the 2nd World War.  They were then arrested, their property taken and they were sent to internment camps in the interior of the Province.  They ran these camps themselves but were treated very badly after the War, msny not being able to return for years after the War.had ended.  Close to these houses is the Chinese bunkhouse.  They were brought from China to do all the hard work for very little pay. .
