Drive by shooting

Today we drove the backroads to Blayney as Maddy was in the regional spelling bee. 2 children from each school are selected and come together in a regional town for a formal competition, some travelled for hundreds of kilometres but we only had to go about 40k. This young kangaroo decided to come with us and hopped along for just long enough for me to find the phone and get a blurry blip.

The weather was zero degrees and we saw a few flakes of snow. There was a bitter wind blowing. It will be much warmer later on in the week so I won’t complain.

Maddy came second in the competition after 15 elimination rounds. It was very exciting. The winner goes to Sydney for the state competition. All our grandchildren seem to be busy doing their “thing”. They have lots of opportunity which is nice. Oscar and Max recently got first and third in a school eisteddfod and next weekend Olivia has a turn doing Physie and Saxaphone.
