Jam

Today’s picture is of two small jars of jam, which were still too warm to be covered. These were made at 0730 hours this morning from some fruit, left over from the weekend, which would have gone off before it could be eaten. One jar is raspberry, the other is blueberry and blackberry, an unusual combination, but not enough of either to make them separately; they taste very good.

During the late morning we went into town to collect our monthly prescriptions, stopping for coffee in Waitrose’s café. Later we had lunch and the café we sometimes visit had a special of gluten-free sausage and onions on the menu, with mash and vegetables. I learnt today that all their sausages are gluten free, so I will no longer avoid them when visiting this café.

After lunch we went to the U3A photography group meeting. We went through part of the programme and discussed what has been planned for the coming year. Then after a “tea break” we looked at some of the pictures that had been taken by members during the past year. Tony, who runs the group, had chosen some excellent pictures and I was pleased to see that some of mine were good enough to be included.

The temperature at GMT noon today was thirteen degrees Celsius, rather chilly with rain on and off all day.
