Secrets of the sea

Coursework for a course on abstract photography, the inner secrets of one of my small shells. I've captured this before, with the bare eye it looks as if there are some grains of sand inside the shell, but when you get close enough (this was done with a 20mm extension on my 60mm lens) it's clear that there's some kind of pearl development going on and apparently there are more shellfish besides oysters that make pearls.

Remember tomorrow's optional Abstract Thursday theme is 'shape' and the tag will be AT220 :-)

Thanks so much for the kind comments, stars and even hearts for yesterday's bursting helenium heart.
