Beach Out, Bump Back

G, H and I went for a walk this afternoon from West Runton by beach to Sheringham (threatening clouds in the distance, but a wonderful emerald green sea), then back along the cliff path across Beeston Bump which has wonderful all round views (see Extra for the sunny return view towards West Runton then Cromer in the far distance).

Beeston Bump (the local name for Beeston Hill) is 63m above sea level and was left behind when the glaciers retreated at the end of the last ice age 10.000 - 15,000 years ago. In WWII it was a Y Station, where wrens intercepted signals from E-Boats which were used locally and also sent to Bletchley Park. I'd love you to have a look at a section of the information board that I've posted as an Extra. My dad was posted at Whaddon Hall on the map in the war, often delivering signals to Bletchley Park where my aunt worked, and to the cabinet war rooms. After the war he worked at Hanslope Park, also on the map. It's a very small World!
