Luton Hoo Walled Garden Blipmeet

A Blipmeet today organised by Nicoiseannie at Luton Hoo Walled Garden.  Good to see ApolloFly and BedsWizzard who were also there.  It's an octagonal garden designed by 'Capability' Brown in the late 1760's which had become completely dilapidated and overgrown by 2000.  Since then, it has been cleared and planted entirely by volunteers who have done a great job of restoring the gardens using what original plans were available.  There are some extensive greenhouses which have not been restored, one of which I have used for my blip, but the plan is to restore them eventually as time and finances allow although some of them are still being used, as shown in my extra.  It may take a long time but they will be magnificent when they are complete.

The gardens are next to the flightpath for nearby Luton Airport but thankfully they must have been taking off in a different direction today as it was a sunny and peaceful visit.  And just because I can......
