Friday 13th but it’s a good day for me!

It may be Friday 13th but it’s been a good and accomplished day for me.
Spent the morning at the Peak in Yoga and Cardio Dance classes where I burned 650 calories. At Shams’ Dance Class me and 3 fellow Fit4Lifers joined in with the regulars where we had a good, fun time and donated like to of moisture to the Gods - we’ll be back!

In the afternoon it was the allotment for me: I forked over and cultivated the area where shallots and onions were harvested 2 weeks ago. The area was then sown with green manure. None of the propriety 100g packets of seeds at £3+ for me. I sowed Nyjer (500g)and wild bird seed (1 kilogram)(a mix of mainly wheat, rye and barley) at a combined cost of less than £3 from Home Bargains. This was sown thickly and will germinate and emerge within 2 weeks when it will suppress and out compete any weed seedlings. It will lock in nutrients over the winter and will be dug in next Spring improving soil fertility and organic matter content.
After allotment exertions it was home for the main meal of the day: beetroot, tomatoes, 750g of allotment vegetables stewed in tomato and basil sauce (courtesy of Lloyd Grossman) with 2 rounds of black pudding crumbled into the stew. For sweet it was pineapple, blackberries and stewed plums& prunes (300g) topped with 25g oat-bran and 200g full fat Greek yogurt.
Now it’s time to relax with possibly an empty calories treat - I’ve earned it! ring improving soil fertility and organic matter content.
