Garden goalmouth is a bit worse for wear

I remember where I was for 9/11. I was downtown Ottawa, in a Clarence Street-building 20 yards away from the US Embassy.

After the 4th plane went down, somebody thought that maybe other US installations around the world could be a target too. So the powers-that-be sat around and talked about it for 3 hours and then sent us home.

I remember the bus ride into the Glebe. The most perfect September day. Blue skies, not a cloud in sight. A gentle breeze. And an 8-hour-drive away, innocent people were dying horrible deaths.

The world has been shit ever since. One thing or another... maybe it always has been.
