Church Ope Cove

A beach hut comes with the house we have rented. It’s not far away but it’s a steep descent to the cove with something like 150 steps through a wooded area and the ruins of an old church. It made my knees hurt on the way down and breathless on the way back up! The cove was worth the climb and we spent an hour or so there enjoying the sun. There were plenty of boats to watch, a snorkeller catching fish with a harpoon, canoes, swimmers and paddling dogs to amuse us. The ruin at the top is Rufus Castle, hopefully I’ll have time to explore more another day.

After a pub lunch and a cream tea overlooking the sea we felt an afternoon in would be welcome. We might go out this evening if we have revived...
