Fluttering

Last Christmas, as a gift joke, my nephew and his partner gave me this solar activated butterfly.

I mounted it (with blu tack) on the dash of my van to continue the joke. I only meant to leave it there for a few days - but here it is, 9 months on, still winging it's way forward. The butterfly is now very faded but the base has declined to fade - completely ignoring all my encouragement to do so.

I have requested that this year's gift have a black base - as orange is truly not my colour of choice!
