The Vet

Work was interesting today. We had the Danish Animal Welfare organisation "Dyrenes Beskyttelse" coming with their mobile vet clinic. Several of the residents have pets and almost none of them can afford paying vet bills, so this clinic is a real help to them.

They offer treatment to pets, who belongs to people, who really benefit from owning a pet, but cannot afford vet bills. The idea is that everyone pays whatever they can.  Some payed £5, others payed £10 and one didn't pay at all as she has no money.

The clinic drives around the country to help elderly people, homeless people, mentally ill people, people who lost their jobs etc. Anyone, who for some reason cannot afford going to the vet.

After work I had a Nordic Kennel Union Dog Dancing Meeting via Skype.
I love that we are able to meet via the internet now. Before our Skype meetings, I took a day off from work and had to find dog sitters for the boys, so I could fly to Finland, Sweden or Norway once a year. We spent maybe 3 or 4 hours at the meeting, but it took all day to get there and it cost a fortune for the Kennel Clubs, that were paying.

Today it took about 1½ hours and then I could wave goodbye to Carola from Norway, Rolf from Sweden and Tiina from Finland, turn my computer off and go do some Nose Work container searches with the boys. Perfect!

Now we are looking forward to a restful evening. I am still trying to recover from a busy weekend.

See you tomorrow
