Not Quite as Planned

Today we intended visiting the Chetham Library in Manchester as part of their Heritage Day arrangements.  The idea was to catch a 'Zap' bus in Huddersfield which would whisk us off into Manchester in less than an hour.
After waiting around for 20 mins after the scheduled time I rang the Bus Company to be told that service had been discontinued 18 months ago.
This is despite a detailed timetable being available on the Internet......
However not all was lost - we rang Blipper Kagsy and arranged a MiniBlipMeet Lunch - most enjoyable.
The sun was shining so we drove around the Pennine Hills and came across the Diggle Locks on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.  This is Navigation lock, part of the flight of locks that lift the canal up to the 5 mile long Standedge Tunnel.  Back home early for tea.
Whilst 'the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry' we ended up having a most enjoyable day :-)
