Venice - day 4

Cannaregio this morning to visit the “New” Jewish Ghetto. A lovely area, but there are some quite harrowing plaques on the walls depicting the treatment of the Jews during the war. From there we walked to the Arsenale - going wrong at one point so by the time we reached there we were looking forward to refreshments in the nice cafe by the naval base - it was closed! So, we walked onto the seafront and had a drink before visiting some of the rather weird art installations in the parks - lots of very large feet involved - see extras (sorry about all the collages today!). Later we took a ride out to San Giorgio to go up the Campanile to view the lagoon and islands - that was closed for renovation work! Strange art installations there too! Took the long way back on the vaporetto - interesting journey. Out to dinner at a bit of a strange restaurant to my mind, and unfortunately my son has developed a liking for Grappa - firewater!
