It seemed appropriate to include seven wind turbines for the 7th blipbirthday but really the celebration was for S’s birthday when we celebrated with a piece of last month’s special cake and a delicious little chocolate cake with some fizz.
Lying just off Copenhagen, the Middelgrunden windfarm was the world’s largest offshore farm when it was built in 2000 but has since been superseded by many much larger.  In the background can be seen the Øresund Bridge with road and railway,  running nearly 8 kilometres (5 miles) from the Swedish coast to the artificial island of Peberholm, then completed by a 4 km (2.5-mile) underwater tunnel to Denmark.
We had driven through the Danish countryside visiting Kronborg Castle, made famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” at Helsingor (Elsinore).    We also stopped by one of the official residences of the Danish Royal Family at Fredensborg Palace and then spent time at Frederiksborg Palace which is an elegant lakeside palace built 400 years ago and now housing a museum of Danish & royal history.  (Extra)  There was so much of interest to see and insufficient time there, then of course we also had to see the famous Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen too.
(I will upload my holiday blips when I have time)
