Waiting for the big red bus

Our new washing machine was to be delivered this morning. It arrived as we were heading up the road to the station to wait for the big red bus that does the Tangier City Tour. Mohsine arrived as we left, ready to supervise installation.

The bus hoved into view after half an hour but didn't stop. A taxi driver told us we'd have to go to the port to catch it. 50 dirhams in a petit taxi and we were there.

It's a double decker bus with an open top. We chose to sit in the shade under a bit of awning at the back. It was novel to see the city from this viewpoint. I confess to clicking wildly with my little camera.

Len listened to the commentary and tells me it's good. Highly recommended then to the newcomer to Tangier for orientation. Afterwards, we tracked back past the refurbished entrance to the Medina entering by Bab El Marsa which gives on to the Petit Socco. We sat in front of Café de Tanger to enjoy a mint tea and watched the tourist parties follow their guides like sheep.

We were sitting alongside Palais Dr Zahia which boasts a spa, probably a private hammam. It's porter, Idriss, consented to my taking a photo of him.

Today's blip is the view back to Miraflores Borj from the railway station also showing the Hilton Hotel and Tanger City Mall.
