Female Belted Kingfisher

It's the first time I've seen one of these beautiful birds at Whatcom Falls Park. Well, I have seen them before... but only as they flashed by. This one settled long enough to take her picture. I was thrilled. Shelly and I were walking in my old haunt, Whatcom Falls Park. I feel very at home whenever I'm there. The extra is a view of Derby Pond.
