Cyclamen time

Flowering cyclamen are one of the first heralds of autumn in the garden, and I can never resist them. This was a quickly snatched shot before preparing to go to the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Langdyke Trust.

The event was held in the impressive surroundings of Castor Church and featured three inspirational talks by Brian Eversham, Jeremy Mynott and Mark Cocker, book-ended by a very pleasant buffet supper and a visit to the local pub.  Virtually everyone involved with nature conservation in Peterborough seemed to be there. The church was decorated with artwork by Kathryn Parsons and looked amazing. And it's the first time I've ever drunk beer in church, which helped alleviate the discomfort of the pews - I haven't wriggled so much since I was a child!
