Murals

On Tuesday we went to Orgosola, a town famous for it's murals. A tradition that started in 1975, mostly politically or socially themed. This particular mural was designed by mothers in town, who are aggrieved by scooters that drive through town with their daughters in the back seat at high speed. So the scooter or moped to the left had a skeleton in the back seat, to make a statement.

In the afternoon we had a group lunch, a sort of shepherd's lunch (in total 400 people were there...). Groups were seated together on wooden benches under the trees. We were served wine or water in little stone jugs. Every few minutes they came to ask for a refill...
We each got a wooden plate and got served food continuously. A piece of bread, some ricotta, slices of salami as appetiser. Followed by some kind of meat, followed by pig meat. At the end a slice of cheese, followed by a slice of melon. Every serving was offered twice. Only the conclusive one was offered once. A tumbler of liquor, grappa and a lovely cookie. A delicious lunch and a very nice happening. As soon as we've got proper WiFi I'll upload a few extras.
