Keeping the High Street alive

More post-festival sorting out and, after lunch, yoga. Then 6km on MrM's exercise bike - far from comfortable, but the competitive side of me can't resist having a go on it now and then. Need to keep MrM on his toes bike!

Barclays Bank - the last bank in Wooler - closed at the end of last year. It was rumoured that an absent investor was interested in buying the property, which could have meant another unused building on the High Street. But Barclays has since agreed to sell it to the Glendale Gateway Trust, which intends to convert the two upper floors in to two affordable flats. The Trust has asked the community for suggestions as to how the ground floor should be used. Brilliant! This summer the building has looked splendid, with its hanging baskets.
