Hoverfly on a Michaelmas Daisy

The sun this afternoon brought out bees, butterflies and hoverflies in the garden which was lovely to see.

This evening I went to our local independent cinema to see Britain on film - Coast and Sea. There were 113 short films about the British at the coast working and on holiday from 1904 to 1978. A lot were black and white silent films and I loved the changing fashions. It was a fascinating and entertaining evening and a bonus was that it was free as part of the National Heritage Open Days.
