Strolling in Tubac

Winter visitors are the life-blood of the vendors and business people in Tubac, Arizona. The village is virtually empty in the summer so they depend on snowbirds, like these people, to buy their goods in order to keep their businesses afloat.

Tubac features over 100 eclectic shops and world class galleries situated along meandering streets punctuated by hidden courtyards and sparkling fountains.

Established in 1752 as a Spanish Presidio (fort), Tubac now hosts working artists whose studios surround the former parade grounds. The village remembers it's colorful history at the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park, located in Old Town, with outdoor displays and an excellent museum.

The museum is awesome. All you see from the outside is an adobe entrance, then you are awed by the wonderful displays. Tubac is one of my favorite places.
