Sgwarnog: In the Field

Skylight

I do like the graphic effect of the "skylights" in the main stand at Valley Parade. I'm sure I will have blipped something similar before, but the effect is at its best when the sun is shining through it, as it was today.

As a birthday weekend bonus, the kids stayed with me an extra half-day to come to the match, and they were rewarded by the first home win they'd seen in ages.

Carlisle United were today's visitors. They took an early lead. City responded well though and went in the break with a 2-1 lead. With a sending off on each side, a disallowed goal and woodwork being struck it was certainly an eventful game. City held the upper hand for most of the match, and were generally a lot more fluent than previously this season, but Carlisle always carried a threat. It wasn't until City added a third  deep into added time that anyone felt the three points were safe.
