300th birthday bash

Back blipped Sunday 22nd

Woke to stunning blue skies which went on all day - not a cloud to be seen.
Got organised after breakfast to head into Dunbar to go to Belhaven brewery’s big birthday party. Arrived just before noon and found a spot on the hill to park our chairs and then headed off to suss out the site. As a working brewery there were some interesting sights - loved the big tanks labelled ‘beer’ and the smoking corner next to the gas tanks.
There were a couple of bars set up but a small issue with lack of staff meant very long queues (over an hour at one point - still I met some lovely people to chat to!). New fave beer is Grapefruit twisted ale, yum yum.

Joined the crowds by the stage for a few of the acts but as the sun went down it hit quite chilly so it was easier to stay on the hill and had a little boogie to myself.

A particular highlight was listening to Dougie Maclean lead the crown in singing his song - Caledonia.

We left a little earlier than planned and headed into the town for some food - the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Taxi back to the campsite and I was tucked up in bed before 10.
