Chilled

We've had a day wandering around Athens in a laid back kind of way, on foot (19800 steps). It's the first time D has been to Greece since we were students. I wont tell you how long ago that was. It's also the first time in many years that we have had a holiday abroad, together. We feel guilty about flying, even though we paid specially for trees to be planted in a Scottish rewilding scheme called Trees For Life to compensate for our flight's CO2 emissions, so we probably wont be doing this very often in the future. I had promised D that I would bring him to see the monasteries at Meteora, and tomorrow that's where we are headed.

Today was just a chilled day exploring the city, and best of all were the narrow winding passageways of Plaka below the Acropolis, where we came across this very relaxed cat!

The National Gardens were also a delight, with many beautiful trees. It's been sunny but not too hot for walking the streets.

Chris and Fotini left us a big bowl of fruit and a bottle of Greek white wine. It's been chilling in the fridge and is now being enjoyed:-)
