That's a Heap of Coal

They burn coal to heat the older buildings here. I have no idea what they do to heat the newer ones. But everywhere around the city, there are these buildings like these with a smoke stack. Outside is a huge pile of coal that is delivered by huge trucks. The people who work there, shovel the coal into the Chinese version of a wheelbarrow and take it inside where I am sure it is shoveled again into the burner. Heavy, Heavy work.

We started moving Terri's stuff today. When I go to Harbin next week, she'll move in with two of the other teachers at school. Of course, I'll be visiting a lot. It's only 5 hours by train. This pic was taken on the way up the stairs to the eighth floor where she'll be living.
