My Fall Colors

Dear Diary,

First day of fall but you couldn't tell by the thermometer.  It's 60F at 7:45 am!  But today is the last warm one and things will get more "fallish" tomorrow.  I know most people think of the flaming reds, oranges and yellows as fall colors, and I do love them, but these ferns in my front yard are such a lovely blend of my favorite colors.  They are not shouting "It's autumn!" like the trees do but softly whispering it to anyone who cares to look.
