Trulli great - Puglia

Puglia is the region in the far south of Italy which forms the famous boot shape.

This is the second time we have been to the region. The first time we visited Alberobello we stayed in a Trullo. Alberobello is a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of these strange dwellings that looked to have been built for gnomes.

We went exploring around our villa which is in a very remote area. Plenty of Olive Groves to keep us company and dotted around are lots of Trulli - the traditional farmer’s home lying abandoned or in a state of development. The Blip shows the Trullo which has been under refurbishment since 2017. We never saw another person the whole afternoon.

The extra shows what these buildings look like close up. These small dwellings housed families of 8+.
