Last Post? at the Elephant and Castle

Tried to get permission to take photos within the Elephant and Castle and was unsuccessful. The response from The Elephant and Castle Town Centre Team was.....

" Unfortunately we are not able to grant you permission to shoot in the shopping centre. This is because we receive a large volume of requests to shoot film at the shopping centre and simply do not have the resources to accommodate them all before the shopping centre closes on 24th September. Many thanks for your understanding on the matter."

Big empty shopping centre ( almost) and two people who want to capture the end of an era for the centre and they say no. Could only see a couple of other photographers in the area. Very unhelpful but they did thank me for my understanding.

My image tries to sum up the end for the centre. I wonder how long it will remain empty and boarded up before they start to demolish the old buildings.
