Sunshine and showers

In what is becoming a familiar pattern, everyone else set off on a walk and I stayed behind. Actually, it was drizzling and not very appealing weather for walking. But it cleared up at about ten, so I hurried out to explore the cobbled streets of Pescasseroli. It’s an attractive town, very quiet on a Sunday morning. But quite a few shops were open, so I bought a jar of home-made marinated artichokes to take home, and yet another slice of pizza for lunch. Soon it started raining steadily again, luckily while I was sitting in a cafe drinking cappuccino. So I headed back to the B&B and spent a few hours reading and blipping.

Everyone else got back at about 2:30, having shortened the walk because of the weather, so we went out for more coffee-drinking once they’d showered and changed. In the evening we went to what must be the only restaurant in town open on a Sunday evening. Yet more giant and delicious platters of antipasti, enough for a meal in themselves, were followed by variations on pasta. No-one had room for more except for S who managed to eat a panna cotta. Still raining but better weather promised for tomorrow.
