Household Relic

A last relic of a recently-demolished house in Blackhall Road, Inverurie, lies amid the brightly-coloured puddles on the yellow clay soil.

The remaining letters on the ironwork: A (?) RE - are a bit of a puzzle, as the house - immediately to the north of the Aberdeenshire Council offices (Gordon House) - was actually known as Birchlee, and the name was written in a cursive script in wrought iron work next to the front door (as can still be seen in Google Street View).
