Fading colors

Autumn is my favorite season. But this has been an unusual Autumn with hotter temperatures than I enjoy; However, Autumn it is without a doubt because despite the heat, the hummingbirds have left on their fall migration and the male goldfinches have lost their beautiful yellow and black coloring. Sigh! On the positive side, after temperatures of nearly 90F this week, today is much cooler. Cool is good, in my opinion.

Today's extra is one of the last rubythroated hummers of the season. I will miss them.
