Loving the Rain

Crocus banaticus, snapped on the phone on a quick visit home, will really appreciate the rain, it doesn't like being dried out.  Indeed all the bulbs, both spring and autumn flowering, will respond to the wet and the drop in soil temperature by making new roots and shoots.  As the climate warms and our area becomes even drier plants which are naturally adapted to cope with a dry season will become more important.

An early start as I took Jamie for a breakfast swim with Jacinta at UEA.   He and I then headed into the city for the bank and shops, I had a selection of out of date notes and coins to exchange after Ruth had a clear out.  This evening I crossed the county to Snettisham on Norfolk's short west coast to talk to a well attended meeting of their garden club about alpines.  Appreciative audience and happy speaker :-)
