For some unknown reason I placed the sharpest, most saturated, most detailed element right in the centre of the image, contrary to usual advice on central composition to ensure your subject is interesting enough to warrant it. Sadly a sausage on a stick with wispy bits probably doesn't cut it.

I think the most interesting part of the frame is the background with interesting shapes and soft light and sparkles of bokeh. However, without the central cattail it might be a bland photograph, so I think it's a question of placement.

But then again, breaking rules is part of the creative process...
