Under The Maple

Another day of rain and another opportunity to see what can be found from a limited position with a long lens. Little scenes appear such as this, which I probably wouldn't think to photograph were I up close. A telephoto picks out vignettes from the wider view, but also narrows the perspective and compresses near and far elements.

The meadow is looking rather ragged now as the flowers fade, but I like how they catch the light beyond the shadow of the maple tree. It adds a sense of depth to the image.
