Fruit of the vine

We all went out en masse today for a bit of touristing. First stop was the Romanesque abbey of San Clemente with fine carvings. The next stop  was the frescoed church at Bominaco, which we visited last year. Those of us who'd been there were happy to visit again; the frescos are superb. The rules have changed since last year though, photography is now forbidden unless you have written permission from the bishop. You can click right from here to see some of the many photos I took last year.  My seasonal blip is of the carvings in the main church just behind the frescoed chapel.

Extra: the light over Decontra when we got back. This is one of the mountains the others climbed yesterday.

Another delicious meal from Marisa and a general singsong round the dinner table featuring works as diverse as Jerusalem, Se Canto, and Que La Montagne Est Belle from us, plus contributions in Dutch and German from other guests, and an Abruzzan cameo from Lorenzo and Marisa. I really can't recommend Pietrantica too highly. The wifi is flaky, but the cats and dogs are friendly, the beds comfortable, the food superb, the views wonderful, and the welcome beyond compare.
