Burnsall Bridge

We Mrs Madwill decided that we should have a day out today as she wasn’t opening the studio, so we headed off to Skipton, despite the dreadful weather forecast.

We drove there in a downpour - which got harder as we walked to get our breakfast…. we got soaked.

We then had a wander around the town/market and whilst Mrs madwill was buying some fabric (as if we don’t have enough) I wandered up to the canal to see the boats, including one just arriving to moor up (extra 1).

House of Fraser was having a closing down sale - with an extra 20% off the already reduced sales prices - so I stocked up on walking boots! Two pairs for less than £70 - would have cost nearly £200 (the same prices as in Cotswold outdoor round the corner)!

Then we drove on to Burnsall where the river was flowing quite quickly - I made friends with a duck (extra 2). We had a cuppa and a bun in the little tea hut in the car park (Riverland). Very nice too.

On the way back we stopped at Barden Bridge (extra 3).

We encountered no further rain during the day - so we dried out ok.

Home and I took Finlay out for a walk.

Tea is from the fridge - duck legs with an orange sauce - which I made yesterday. Just got to prep some veg and steam it.
