Daytime Drama

Even though I made this image around 6pm on a dull overcast evening and looking  over to the shadows of the opposite bank, I still get the feeling of flash photography at night. Undeniably it has more impact than the camera captured and I do like the mystery in the darkness, but I'm having a hard time reconciling it with the actual scene.

Maybe this is a turning point in my development and this is the "look" I've been striving for, or perhaps one has to swing too far over to realize what's possible, before reaching some yet to be decided middle ground. I will only find out in retrospect.

I did try adding some warmth to give the impression of daylight, but I preferred it without.
