Golden Gate

Today we cycled over the Golden Gate Bridge! What a wonderful start to the new year - bright sunshine, a bit of a chill breeze, but not cold.

LOTS of cyclists, ranging from a very stately self, taking it slow & looking at the view, to the archetypal lycra-clad-go-faster on their super street bikes or mountain bikes. Must have been very frustrating for them having to negotiate their way through all of us tourists.

Sausalito very chi-chi, selling a more expensive version of tourist tat that what we found on Fishermans Wharf. Getting cold, so found a nice unpretensious cafe for hot chocolate and Red Velvet cake (chocolate & red food colouring) before getting on the ferry to go back to city. Ferry gave us a nice slow cruise past Alcatraz, and then into the Port.
I'm still blown away by the magic of having been here !
