Drei Zinnen

People visit Misurina mainly to walk around the Drei Zinnen / Tre Cime di Lavaredo or just merely to stare at the towers that are amongst the most distinctive landforms in the Dolomites. It’s fair to say that the web and the books suggest you won’t be alone on the walk. They also mention the cost of the toll road, which at 30 euros for the 7 km trip is rather expensive. Needless to say we decided that was extortionate and decided on a different walk that also had views of the hills and free parking. We went up to the Rifugio Fonda Savio for morning tea and a fine piece of Apfelstrudel, before walking down an impressive valley with great views of the towers. The path led back to Lago d’Antorno where there were good reflections of the hills and that makes my blip. The first extra is of views from the walk and the second some fungus and a Chough, also from the walk and an official sign on a tourist board sign that shows there are still tensions in what was Südtirol in Austria.

Yesterday’s blip.
