Faraway Heron

As the light was quite good this afternoon, I thought I'd go to College Lakes - a nature reserve a few miles away - to test out my new long zoom lens. Good thinking but... there was very little bird life about, and certainly nothing within a range of any transportable lens. The other 'but' is that I didn't actually take the superzoom lens with me!!! Double failure. I settled on this grey heron. At least it kept still but there was foliage between me and this was getting wafted in the wind.

Better luck with lens tomorrow maybe.
