Guernsey always used to look very different to England. One big difference used to be the high proportion of bungalows over here. You often hear people on TV property programmes say that they consider bungalows are for old people. Over here there used to be a law that said if someone owned and worked 400’ of glass they were entitled to build a dwelling alongside that glass. The logic being that 400’ (x 30’) of glass provided a living for a family so building a house (which was always a bungalow) made a family self sufficient.
Over the years many of these bungalows have grown up and become houses.
There were many other feature that make (or used to make) Guernsey look different but a pastoral scene like today’s blip definitely looks very English to me...
