Closed - The Bacon Butty

I wouldn't imagine that the girls passing The Bacon Butty kiosk would have clocked that the shutters are down. They do not look like its regular clientele. The Bacon Butty was no proprietor of healthy snacks but I'm sure that the increasing emphasis on a healthy diet is not why it has closed. It was a cheap and cheerful kiosk to buy things consumable on the move - sweets, crisps, rolls - and its signature snack was the bacon butty, with a bottle of the Scottish iconic drink Irn Bru. This little outlet at the entrance to High Street station with an additional window to the street, also stocked newspapers for the train journey.  Maybe the age of the Smart Phone was the last straw that finished it off, rather than exhortations to eschew fat and sugary foods.
