A Mini Mover

No Mummy Meet today so William and I went to Mini Movers at the Loughborough Leisure Centre. It occupied a quarter of the huge sports hall. Actually a large playgroup. All sorts of toys occupied space all over the floor.

Will made a beeline for the wooden train track with trains and trucks. He was playing happily on his own until another kid came and took his train off him. He tried the garage and did manage to hold his own amongst the other boys. He would try out the big tunnel only while nobody else was using it.

The gent helping with the group took him on the 'stepping stones,' irregularly shaped clods of plastic. After three goes on that he was getting too confident and so we had to guide him away. He helped tidy up the train track like he would have to at home.

He utterly refused to join in the singing, even though it included 'Wind the Bobbin Up,' and the marching.

So we went up to the Soft Play by the café to have a bite to eat before going in. He got to the top level. Then he gave the command to put on 'Shoes' and home to see Grandad and Basil.

We read him stories for the rest of the afternoon.
