In happier times: Theo's wedding

There is another short gap in Lorna's diary from 10th October 1939. We have therefore raided the family album and photographed an old pre-war shot for today's blip.

The wedding party is that of Lorna's brother Theo and his new bride Irene. Theo has already been mentioned in Lorna's text (on September 7th 1939 and September 15th 1939), and will feature again in later diary entries. The wedding was on 18th June 1938 in Lincolnshire, and Lorna was one of the bridesmaids. Here she is to the right of the best man.

We are currently trying to contact the family of one of the people in the photograph. This is so that we can gain permission to note this wedding party member's identity in Lorna's journal. This person won fame in later life, and is now a 'household name' that will be instantly recognised by many blippers. As soon as we are certain that the family would not object to our doing so, we will post these details to the journal. So it turns out that the detail about the famous person and the photograph was incorrect! The family definitely had close links to this person, but she is not pictured here. Thanks to staff at North Lincolnshire public libraries for putting us all straight.
